Job Title: Telemedicine Eye Doctor
Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and compassionate Optometrists (OD) or Ophthalmologists (MD) to join our telemedicine team to deliver high-quality eye care to patients through virtual consultations. The Doctor will perform patient assessments, diagnose eye-related conditions, recommend treatment plans, renew eyeglass prescriptions and provide guidance on managing eye health, all in a virtual manner. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with telemedicine tools, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care. Patient interactions are both Synchronous (real time) or Asynchronous ( assessment based on furnished information)
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Consultations:Conduct thorough patient evaluations via telemedicine platforms, including discussing symptoms, health history, and lifestyle factors that may affect vision and eye health.
Diagnosis and Treatment:
Assess and diagnose eye conditions such as conjunctivitis, dry eye, glaucoma, and refractive errors; provide treatment recommendations and management strategies tailored to each patient.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on eye health, preventive measures, and the importance of routine eye exams; offer guidance on eyewear options and contact lens use.
Rx Prescription Renewals:
Renew expired eyeglass and contact prescriptions
Qualifications:
Board Certified Doctor of Optometry (OD) or Doctor of Ophthalmology MD.
Active licenses in the applicable state(s) with eligibility to practice via telemedicine.
Previous experience with a preference for those with experience in telemedicine or digital health services. However, we are willing to train a candidate with minimal experience.
Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with patients remotely.
Basic computer / internet skills.
Strong understanding of data privacy laws, including HIPAA, and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
Skills and Competencies:
Clinical proficiency in diagnosing and managing common eye conditions remotely.
Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathy and patient care.
Problem-solving abilities and the flexibility to adapt to virtual patient interactions.
Proficiency with technology, including familiarity with video conferencing, digital documentation, and telemedicine software.
Work Environment:
This is a remote position, allowing for flexible working hours. The candidate must have a quiet and secure workspace, reliable internet access, and access to a computer or telemedicine-enabled device.
Compensation:
Paid monthly based on the number of patient encounters completed in the previous month.
